Biography

Spike Taylor is a certified professional piano tuner and technician living in Montreal, and a member of the Canadian Association of Piano Technicians. He graduated from the Piano Technology Program at George Brown College in Toronto and apprenticed with the late Paul McGoldrick in Montreal. He went on to establish himself in a variety of piano rebuilding workshops and schools in New York City and with the Send a Piana To Havana project in Cuba (click here for story). Recently returned and re-established in Montreal, he offers tuning, repair and rebuilding services on all types of grand and upright pianos.

Spike Taylor was a resident Piano Technician at the Banff Centre of The Arts in the winter of 2009. In the spring of that year he was awarded a Piano Technicians Guild Foundation Scholarship to attend the 52nd Annual Piano Technicians Guild Convention and Technical Seminar in Grand Rapids, MI. In the fall of 2009 he participated in a post-Hurricane Katrina piano rescue project in New Orleans, LA. He continues to offer tuning, repair, rebuilding and rescue services to the pianos of Montreal, QC.

Le biographie

Spike Taylor est un accordeur de piano professionnel certifié. Il est de plus un technicien membre de l’Association de techniciens de piano. Il a complété un programme en technologie de piano au collège George Brown à Toronto et était un apprenti à Montréal de feu Paul McGoldrick. Il a poursuivi sa carrière dans un nombre d’ateliers de reconstruction de pianos et d’écoles à New York et avec le projet «Send a Piana To Havana» à Cuba (cliquez ici pour l’histoire). Dernièrement retourné et ré-établi à Montréal, il offre les services d’accordage, de réparations et de reconstruction de tous types de pianos.
