Lhasa de Sela Park Tribute Concert
Lhasa de Sela, an American-born singer-songwriter who long called the Mile End district of Montreal home, passed away from cancer in 2009. A local citizens’ group, the Comité des citoyens du Mile End mounted a successful campaign to rename a neighbourhood park in the late artist’s honour. On September 23rd, 2012, just days before what would have been her 40th birthday, the group held a mini-concert in Lhasa de Sela Park to celebrate her music. On hand to pay tribute were Little Scream, Plants and Animals and Arthur H., among others. (Photography by Owain Harris)
